Overview

Mushroom Forager Guide ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our offline mushroom field guide, feature-based identification helper, toxic lookalike reference, and personal foraging log.

Data We Collect

Locally on your device only:

• Foraging log entries you create (species, date, location description, coordinates you manually type in, habitat, conditions, spore print color, confidence rating, and notes)
• App preferences (theme setting)
• Premium purchase status

We do not upload, transmit, or store any of your foraging log or location data on any server. The App does not request camera or device-location permissions; any coordinates in your log are entered manually by you.

Permissions We Request

• Internet: Required only to (a) display ads on the free tier and (b) verify Google Play in-app purchases.

Third-Party Services

• Google AdMob: Displays ads to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing: Processes the one-time Pro Lifetime upgrade. Purchase data is handled by Google.
• Firebase (Google): Used only for app initialization and anonymous crash diagnostics. No identifying user data is sent.

Data Storage

All foraging log entries and preferences are stored locally on your device only using SQLite. We do not have access to your data and there is no cloud sync.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to any third party. The only data leaving your device:

• Ad interaction data (Google AdMob, free-tier users only)
• Purchase verification (Google Play Billing)
• Anonymous crash reports (Firebase)

Children's Privacy

The App is designed for adult foragers and hobbyists. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Your Rights

You can delete all app data at any time by:

• Deleting individual entries inside the app
• Clearing the app's data in your device Settings
• Uninstalling the app (removes all local data)

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
