Overview

Solar & Shading Pro ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our solar PV sizing, shading, rebate and proposal calculator app.

Data We Collect

Locally on your device only:

• Lead records (name, email, phone, address, notes) that you manually create
• Project records (system size, panel/inverter/battery selections, monthly usage, utility rate)
• App preferences (units, theme, notification settings)
• Premium purchase status

We do not upload, transmit, or store any of your lead, project, or financial data on any server.

Permissions We Request

• Location (optional): When you ask the app to estimate production for a site, we send only the coordinates to NREL's public PVWatts API to receive a kWh estimate. Location is never stored, never associated with your identity, and never sent anywhere else.
• Internet: Required to (a) display ads on the free tier, (b) call NREL PVWatts for production estimates, and (c) verify Google Play in-app purchases.
• Sensors (optional): Used only inside the in-app sun-path tool to estimate device tilt as a roof-pitch shortcut. Sensor readings never leave the device.

Third-Party Services

• Google AdMob: Displays ads to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing: Processes the one-time Pro Lifetime upgrade. Purchase data is handled by Google.
• Google Play Integrity API: Verifies that the app installation is genuine to protect purchases against fraud. No personal data is collected.
• NREL PVWatts v8 (US Department of Energy, public API): Free public service. Only system parameters (latitude, longitude, tilt, azimuth, system size, losses) are sent. No personal identifiers are included.
• Firebase (Google): Used only for crash diagnostics and Play Integrity verification. No identifying user data is sent.

Data Storage

All leads, projects, rebate selections, and preferences are stored locally on your device only using SQLite. We do not have access to your data and there is no cloud sync.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data or your customers' personal data to any third party. The only data leaving your device:

• Ad interaction data (Google AdMob, free-tier users only)
• Purchase verification (Google Play Billing)
• Anonymous integrity checks (Google Play Integrity)
• Coordinates only when you actively request a production estimate
• Anonymous crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics, if you opted in)

Children's Privacy

The App is designed for adult installers, contractors, sales professionals, and homeowners. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Your Rights

You can delete all app data at any time by:

• Using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings
• Uninstalling the app (removes all local data)

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
