Sourdough Starter Coach ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our starter tracking, feeding scheduler, recipe tools, and baking log.
Data We Collect
Locally on your device only:
- Your starters, feeding schedules, and feeding history
- Recipes and baking logs you create
- Photos you attach to entries
- App preferences (theme, reminder settings)
- Premium purchase status
We do not upload, transmit, or store any of your starter, recipe, photo, or log data on any server.
Permissions We Request
- Internet: Required only to (a) display ads on the free tier and (b) verify Google Play in-app purchases.
- Notifications: Used only to remind you when a starter is due for feeding. You may disable these at any time.
Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob: Displays ads to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing: Processes the one-time Pro upgrade. Purchase data is handled by Google.
- Firebase (Google): Used only for app initialization and anonymous crash diagnostics. No identifying user data is sent.
Data Storage
All starters, recipes, logs, photos, and preferences are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to your data and there is no cloud sync.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to any third party. The only data leaving your device:
- Ad interaction data (Google AdMob, free-tier users only)
- Purchase verification (Google Play Billing)
- Anonymous crash reports (Firebase)
Children's Privacy
The App is designed for home bakers and hobbyists. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Your Rights
You can delete all app data at any time by:
- Deleting individual entries inside the app
- Clearing the app's data in your device Settings
- Uninstalling the app (removes all local data)
