Overview

Tide & Fishing Almanac ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our offline tide chart, solunar bite forecast, catch log, knot library, and state fishing regulations app.

Data We Collect

Locally on your device only:

• Catch log entries (species, length, weight, lure, notes, photos)
• Optional GPS coordinates of catch locations (only if you grant location permission)
• Tackle box inventory (rods, reels, lures, lines)
• Cost-per-trip records (gas, bait, fees)
• Favorite NOAA stations and species preferences
• App preferences (units, theme, notifications)
• Premium purchase status

Permissions We Request

• Location (optional): To tag your catch entries with GPS coordinates and display the nearest NOAA tide station. Location data never leaves your device.
• Camera / Photo library (optional): To attach photos to catch records. Photos are stored locally only.
• Notifications (optional): To remind you of fishing license expiration.
• Internet: To show ads (free tier), fetch live marine weather, and verify in-app purchases.

Third-Party Services

• Google AdMob: Displays banner, interstitial, and app-open ads to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing: Processes the one-time Pro upgrade purchase. Purchase data is handled by Google.
• Firebase Crashlytics: Anonymous crash reports help us fix bugs. No personal data is sent. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• NOAA marine weather (optional, online): When you tap "Refresh Weather", a request is sent to NOAA's public API with the chosen station ID. No personal data is included.

Data Storage

All catch records, tackle inventory, photos, and preferences are stored locally on your device only using SQLite + on-device file storage. We do not have access to your data and there is no cloud sync.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to any third party. The only data leaving your device:

• Anonymous crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
• Ad interaction data (Google AdMob, free-tier users only)
• Purchase verification (Google Play Billing)

Children's Privacy

The App is designed for adult anglers. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Your Rights

You can delete all app data at any time by:

• Using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings
• Uninstalling the app (removes all local data)

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
