Terms of Service for Calm: Mood & Meditation

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Calm: Mood & Meditation ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's consent, to use the App.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App for your own non-commercial use. All sounds, text, and content are owned by us or used with appropriate rights and may not be extracted, redistributed, or resold.

4. Wellbeing Use Only — Not Medical or Mental-Health Treatment

The App provides a mood journal, breathing guides, a meditation timer, gratitude prompts, a CBT-style thought record, and self-care tools for general wellbeing and self-reflection only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, including any mental-health condition. It is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline immediately (for example, 988 in the US, 111/999 in the UK, or 13 11 14 Lifeline in Australia).

5. Reminder Reliability

The daily check-in reminder relies on your device's notification system and operating-system power settings, which may delay or suppress notifications. Do not rely on the App for time-critical reminders.

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time "Pro" upgrade that unlocks advanced statistics and the yearly view, unlimited custom tags, PDF/CSV export, extra breathing patterns and ambient sound packs, and removes ads. Purchases are processed by Google Play and are subject to Google Play's terms. Prices are shown in your local currency at the time of purchase.

7. Advertisements

The free version displays ads. By using the free version you agree to the display of ads. Upgrading to Pro removes ads.

8. Your Content

Any notes, journal entries, and photos you create remain yours and are stored only on your device. You are responsible for backing up your own data using the in-app backup feature.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that playback or notifications will function in all device states.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
