Privacy Policy for Invoice, Hours & Mileage

Not a government or tax service. Invoice, Hours & Mileage is an independent third-party tool. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by HMRC, the ATO, the IRS, the CRA or any government or tax authority. Mileage-rate and VAT/GST presets are conveniences based on publicly published rates. Official sources include HMRC mileage allowances, IRS standard mileage rates and ATO car expenses. Always confirm current rates with your accountant or tax authority.

Overview

Invoice, Hours & Mileage ("the App") helps freelancers and sole traders create invoices and quotes, log mileage, timesheets and expenses, and export branded PDFs. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled.

Data Stored On Your Device Only

The App stores the following locally on your device in a private database. None of it is uploaded to us or any server:

Your business profile (name, contact details, logo image, currency and tax defaults)
Clients you add (name, email, phone, address, notes)
Items/services library (name, rate, unit)
Invoices and quotes (line items, tax, discounts, deposits, status, notes)
Mileage logs, timesheets/shifts and expenses
Receipt and logo photos you attach (stored on your device)
App preferences (theme, currency) and premium purchase status

No account is required — no name, email, or sign-in.

Camera & Photos

If you add a logo or attach a receipt, the App uses your camera or the system photo picker to select a single image, which is copied into the App's private storage. The App does not request broad access to your photo library.

On-Device Receipt Scanning (OCR)

Optional receipt scanning reads a receipt image entirely on your device to suggest an amount. Images are not uploaded for this.

Google AdMob (Free Tier Only)

Free users see ads served by Google AdMob, which may collect a device advertising ID and general usage data for ad delivery. Upgrading to Pro removes all ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Play Integrity

The App uses the Google Play Integrity API to help protect against fraud and tampering. This processes a device/app integrity signal through Google; it does not collect personal information.

In-App Purchases

The optional Pro upgrade is processed by Google Play. We receive only confirmation that a purchase completed. We do NOT receive your card details, billing address, or Google account information.

Notifications

If you enable payment-due reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. No reminder data leaves your device.

Backups & Shared PDFs

The backup/export and PDF/CSV features write files you choose to share or save. Those files are controlled entirely by you and are never sent to us.

Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, trade, or share your personal data. The only third parties involved are Google (AdMob, Play Billing, Play Integrity) as described above, or where required by law.

Children

The App is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored on your device. Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage deletes everything. See our data deletion page.
